ROBOTANK Showcases the ZC-580 Compact Tracked All-Terrain Robot at the 23rd China–ASEAN Expo

2026-09-21

The 23rd China–ASEAN Expo took place in Nanning, Guangxi, under the theme “Sharing CAFTA 3.0 Opportunities, Creating a Better Life.” For the first time, the expo introduced an “AI Marketplace” and a dedicated zone showcasing demand from ASEAN countries, highlighting AI technologies and applications while facilitating technical exchange and business matchmaking.

ROBOTANK presented its ZC-580 Compact Tracked All-Terrain Robot in the expo’s AI exhibition area, showcasing capabilities for emergency response and specialized operations, alongside an on-site emergency response solution integrating communications, robotics, and AI.

All-Terrain Mobility for Challenging Environments

Disaster sites often present blocked access routes, difficult terrain, and uncertain conditions. Sending reconnaissance equipment ahead to gather information is therefore an important part of emergency operations.

Designed for demanding environments, the ZC-580 features a trailing-arm independent suspension system that helps absorb ground impacts, improve driving stability, and support mission payloads. Its tracked design enables it to traverse brush, sand, gravel, rubble, slopes, and uneven surfaces.

Through remote operation, the robot can enter unknown areas ahead of personnel to conduct forward reconnaissance, long-range observation, and situational assessment. This helps responders gather information before entering the site and reduces their exposure to unknown hazards.

Modular Payloads for Diverse Missions

Different operating environments require different sensing and operational capabilities. The ZC-580 supports payloads with high power requirements and can be equipped with two-way audio, environmental sensing units, dual-sensor camera systems, gas sensors, and communications relays to expand its range of applications.

Observation equipment enables long-range viewing and on-site image capture. Environmental monitoring modules help assess site conditions, while two-way audio supports remote communication. A communications relay can help extend network coverage at the scene.

By combining the robot platform with mission-specific modules, the ZC-580 can be configured for emergency response, public safety, and hazardous-environment reconnaissance, providing equipment tailored to different operational needs.

Communications and AI for Informed Decisions

Once a robot reaches the scene, transmitting information promptly and turning it into useful input for responders is equally important.

Using the ZC-580 as a mobile platform, ROBOTANK is exploring an emergency response workflow that connects data collection, transmission, and decision support through on-site communications networks and AI analysis.

The robot enters the scene to collect images, audio, and environmental data. The communications system links front-line equipment with remote operating and command terminals to relay that information. AI capabilities can be integrated according to project requirements to assist with information recognition, organization, and analysis, supporting human assessment.

This solution aims to help front-line personnel understand conditions more quickly, inform task allocation and rescue route selection, and improve coordination between on-site equipment and command teams.

Building Partnerships for Real-World Deployment

Participation in the China–ASEAN Expo provided ROBOTANK with an opportunity to showcase its capabilities and connect with market needs across China and ASEAN. Focusing on practical challenges in emergency response and specialized operations, the company seeks to strengthen dialogue with end users, communications providers, and system integrators to develop solutions suited to local operating environments and deployment conditions.

ROBOTANK will continue to focus on real-world mission requirements, advancing the integration of robot platforms, mission payloads, communications systems, and intelligent analysis. By improving reliability and adaptability in challenging environments, the company aims to bring specialized robots into a broader range of practical applications.
